Monitoring the Fallout from the May 6 "Flash Crash"

Flash Crash

ISE supports the steps being taken by the equities markets to implement trading pauses as an initial safeguard against a reoccurrence of the extreme volatility the markets experienced on May 6. Operationally, there will be no impact on ISE as we already halt options trading when the underlying equity is halted. We are committed to working with the other exchanges and the SEC to examine the events of May 6 and to determine what additional steps, if any, need to be taken to prevent a reoccurrence.
